Padres Place Tucupita Marcano on 10-Day IL
Marcano Injured in Padres Victory
Out Six to Ten Days
The San Diego Padres have placed shortstop Tucupita Marcano on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain. Marcano was injured in the Padres' 6-0 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Marcano is batting .366 with four home runs and 38 RBIs in 104 games this season. He is one of the Padres' top prospects and is expected to be a key part of their future.
The Padres recalled infielder Tucupita Marcano from Triple-A El Paso to take Marcano's place on the roster.
Marcano is expected to miss six to ten days.
