From the 1980s Classic to a Modern Reboot

Beverly Hills Cop, the beloved buddy cop action comedy film from 1984, has left an enduring mark on the entertainment landscape. Directed by Martin Brest with a screenplay by Daniel Petrie Jr and story by Danilo, the film stars Eddie Murphy, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, and Lisa Eilbacher. The film follows the adventures of Axel Foley, a street-smart Detroit detective who travels to Beverly Hills to investigate the murder of his friend.

An Iconic Franchise

The success of Beverly Hills Cop spawned a franchise of action comedy films. The second and third installments, released in 1987 and 1994 respectively, continued the adventures of Axel Foley and his partner Billy Rosewood. The films were critically acclaimed and commercially successful, solidifying the franchise's status as a cinematic staple.

In 2024, the franchise returned to the big screen with Axel F, a direct sequel to the original film.
