Celtics Overcome Doncic's Triple-Double to Beat Mavericks 138-110 for 10th Straight Win

DALLAS, Texas (AP) - Jayson Tatum bounced back from a subpar performance with 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists as the Boston Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks 138-110 on Tuesday night for their 10th straight win.
The Celtics, who have won 14 of their last 15 games, were led by Jaylen Brown's 28 points. Marcus Smart added 20 points, and Al Horford had 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Luka Doncic had 30 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists for the Mavericks, who have lost three of their last four games.
The Celtics led by just five points at halftime, but they opened the third quarter with a 10-0 run to take control of the game. Tatum scored the first five points of the run, and Brown added a three-pointer and a jumper.
The Mavericks never got closer than seven points the rest of the way.
The Celtics' defense was impressive, holding the Mavericks to 39% shooting from the field. Dallas also made just 26% of its three-point attempts.
The Celtics, meanwhile, shot 50% from the field and 38% from three-point range.
"Our defense was really good tonight," Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said. "We held them to 39% shooting, and that's a great effort against a team that has a lot of offensive firepower."
Doncic was frustrated by the Celtics' defense, but he praised their effort.
"They're a great team," Doncic said. "They play hard, they play together, and they have a lot of talent. They're going to be tough to beat in the playoffs."
The Celtics will host the Miami Heat on Thursday night. The Mavericks will travel to Los Angeles to face the Lakers on Friday night.
