Alvarez Double Secures Victory in Saudi Arabia
Manchester City have claimed their first-ever Club World Cup title after defeating Brazilian side Fluminense 4-0 in the final on Friday.
Julian Alvarez scored twice, while Nino added an own goal and Phil Foden also found the net for City in Saudi Arabia.
The win means that City have now won all six major trophies available to them in the last two seasons, completing a unique achievement.
Pep Guardiola's side dominated the match from the start, with Alvarez giving them an early lead after just 40 seconds.
Nino's own goal doubled City's advantage before half-time, and Foden made it 3-0 in the second half.
Alvarez then completed the scoring with his second goal of the game in the 89th minute.
The victory was a fitting end to a remarkable year for City, who have now won the Premier League, FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup.
Guardiola praised his team after the match, saying: "I'm so proud of my players. They've worked so hard all season and they deserve this success."
"This is a historic moment for Manchester City. We're the first English club to win the Club World Cup, and we're proud to have made history."
